Endometriosis Awareness

Did you know black women & Latina/Hispanic women are less likely to be diagnosed with endometriosis as white and Asian women? As someone diagnosed with endometriosis at age 30, I can attest to a late diagnosis and its impact beyond physical pain to my mental health. I’ve endured countless invasive procedures & surgeries, endometriosis can be an ever-present condition making it difficult to feel normal. 1 in 10 women of reproductive age have endometriosis, and many are not diagnosed until their 30s and 40s. Endometriosis is a significant cause of infertility in women, which can lead to depression and anxiety. Many women will receive medical treatment, undergo numerous surgeries, and try to manage chronic pain while their mental health suffers. If you are this woman or know someone diagnosed or struggling with undiagnosed uterine pain- prioritize your mental and emotional well-being by connecting with a knowledgeable therapist who understands women's issues or is trained in fertility counseling.
